The Food Benevolence Program began in the mid 1980s and has been serving the community ever since.  The ROMEOs strive to meet the needs of disadvantaged families in Southern Maryland by distributing food to screened applicants on Wednesday mornings.

Food recipients range from senior citizens whose only income is a meager social security pension to families of ten or twelve.  We are presently serving about 120 families per month.

Additionally, we distribute over 200 Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets each year.  Each basket includes turkey, potatoes, yams, rolls, cranberry sauce, fruits, vegetables, cookies, candy, etc.  As an added touch, our church youth and children purchase and include various types of hygiene products for the baskets.
